March Releases-Part Deux

HI THERE & HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!  Today, us Artistic Outpost Design Team Gals are revisiting our Artistic Outpost March New Releases with a kind-of, impromptu Blog Hop–

Julie * Me (thanks for hopping by) * Avril * Terry * Tracy * Lisa

Today, I’m sharing a card I made using our new Harvest & Grunge Elements stamp sets and the single Seed Packets Background image….

…plus a sentiment from our Typography set.  I whipped this card up so fast that I took only two step-out photos (sorry!) —

The background panel is an off-white, speckled card stock.  I die cut two circles out of manila stock to act as masks.

I inked the Seed Packets Background stamp with Potting Soil Archival and stamped onto the masked panel.

I stamped the image of the ‘kissin’ kids’, from our new Harvest stamp set, onto mixed-media paper with Potting Soil Archival and water colored with Distress Markers and my water brush.  I water colored the circles with Tumbled Glass DI and I also stamped the speckles image from our Grunge Elements set with Tumbled Glass DI, too.

I fussy cut the kids with my finger knife and adhered into the water colored circles with matte Decou-Page.  When set, I ran through my sewing machine to add the stitched elements.  I roughed up the edges of the panel with my paper distresser and inked with Ground Espresso DI and an ink blending tool.

The sentiment is from our Typography set and I stamped that onto mixed-media paper with Potting Soil Archival and fussy cut into word bands.  I inked the edges of the bands with Ground Espresso DI and mounted them onto dark brown card stock.  I then adhered the word bands onto the panel with matte Decou-Page and attached the finished panel to a kraft card base-which I had also stamped with the speckled image from the Grunge Elements Set–you can kind of the speckles there peeking out from behind the background panel.

I finished with inking the edges of the kraft card base with, you guessed it, Ground Espresso and my ink blending tool and that’s it!  You can see how this card came together so quickly–These new images from Artistic Outpost just make creating soooo easy!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  If you’re hopping through on our Artistic Outpost New Release ‘re-deux’, you’re next blog stop is Avril, but here’s the entire line-up for you….

  1. Oh Shari, I just love what you have done with those kids! The added stitching adds so much detail! Great idea with the circle technique! Hope you are out gardening by now and that all the snow has melted. We are still in the back and forth from CA life, so no real gardening happening here!
